Step into the vibrant world of Copenhagen Pride, as the city embraces diversity and advocates for equality once again. Discover the colorful parade, empowering events, and unwavering commitment to acceptance in this captivating celebration of love and inclusivity.

Here are our top tips on where to go and which events you can’t miss during Copenhagen Pride 2024.

With Pride

The theme of Copenhagen Pride in 2024 is ‘With Pride’. Despite significant progress over the last decades and the successes of Copenhagen Pride since 1996, there are still challenges to true equality and inclusion for LGBTI+ people. The message is clear: live freely, push for change and stand up for what is right, all with pride. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies are invited to join their voices, fostering a powerful sense of unity and strength in the pursuit of positive change.

Demonstration on Pride Square in CopenhagenPride Square

From 13 to 18 August 2024, Copenhagen's main square will be transformed into Pride Square during Copenhagen Pride Week. At the intersection of Radhuspladsen and Stroget, there will be live entertainment every evening with different themes, such as music from the 70s and 80s and a Swedish/Eurovision night. The highlight of the week is the drag show on Friday evening, also known as drag night. In addition to the entertainment programme, various vendors will be offering food and drinks. While entry to Pride Square is free, you can support the event by purchasing an official Pride wristband.

Pride Events & Parties

On Saturday, August 17th, the Centralhjørnet Pride Street Party will have a twelve hour long party. Centralhjørnet is the oldest LGBTI+ bar in Denmark, where no two days are the same, and has a mixed audience both in terms of age and sexuality. At their street party, you’ll find outside drinks, DJs and the traditional pride party both inside and outside the bar.
At the same time the different gay bars and clubs on Studiestraede, including Kiss Kiss, Maksen Bar and Cosy Bar, are also celebrating. Like every year, the street will be closed to traffic and transformed into a fabulous street party to celebrate gay pride.
Copenhagen Pride offers a varied programme. Besides Pride Square, there are also talks and activities in the human rights tent on Regnbuepladsen and children's Pride events in Rådhushaven.
Throughout the week, the National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen Contemporary, and Saint Stephen’s Church will showcase special Rainbow Art exhibitions. Additionally unique canal and walking tours with drag queen guides will offer a special look at Copenhagen’s history, with details available at Pride Square.

As the street parties are getting started, Copenhagen Pride’s biggest party takes to the streets of the city. The Pride Parade 2024 will take place on Saturday 17 August from 13:00, starting at Frederiksberg City Hall Square. From here tens of thousands of people who take part in the parade will make their way via Pile Allé, Frederiksberg Allé and Vesterbrogade to Pride Square.
