Must-see attractions in Copenhagen

Regardless of the season, Copenhagen is always a great city trip full of sightseeing. With its great array of cultural, architectural and historical landmarks, it poses a fun getaway destination. Let us show you our favourite attractions that need to be on your itinerary for an unforgettable experience in the city of fairy tales.

Amusement Park Tivoli Gardens

A visit to Copenhagen is not complete without going to the iconic and probably most famous attraction in Copenhagen: The Tivoli Gardens Amusement Park. No matter what time of year you visit, Tivoli is always a great choice. You can find the beautiful gardens and multiple fun rides right in the heart of Copenhagen.

It’s actually the second oldest amusement park in Europe and attracts many visitors for its thrilling roller coaster and stunning views of Copenhagen from the carousel Star Flyer.

Christiansborg Palace

See Copenhagen from above and immerse yourself in 800 years of Danish history. Christiansborg Castle is located on Slotsholmen Island and is both a royal palace and the seat of the Danish government.

Step into the shoes of the Danish royals who once lived here and explore the well-preserved interiors. During your visit to Christiansborg Castle, you can either discover the royal rooms and ruins on your own or join a guided tour. Should you prefer to explore the different parts of the palace on your own we recommend using the Useeum app.

The highlight of the palace is the tower with its 360-degree view over the city. On a clear day, you can even see Malmö from up there. By the way, access to the tower is free, though there may be some queues. There is also a restaurant at the top, which you should probably book in advance to secure a seat.

The palace is really a must-see if you want to immerse yourself in Danish history and enjoy a good meal with a beautiful view.

National Museum of Denmark

Also close to the Tivoli Gardens is the National Museum of Denmark. If you’re into museums, this is a must-see when you are visiting Copenhagen. Representing 14.000 years of Danish history that range form the ice age to the Viking lore all the way to contemporary lifestyle and modern culture, it is home to the largest cultural exhibition on Denmark. Watch the entire history of Denmark come alive in the 3 floors of galleries and exhibit halls.

The Tube

A newly opened and unique attraction in Copenhagen, this attraction will put all your senses to the test. Cross a vortex, experience the feeling of being underwater, disappear into a multitude of balls and explore infinite spaces full of illusions and fascinating experiences. Get a Tube photo pass to get the best pictures at this fun attraction. With many photo opportunities and right in the city centre, across from the Tivoli gardens, is a mind bending journey

Capture this amazing experience with plenty of photo opportunities and your special The Tube photo pass. The perfect souvenir or social media post for your trip to Copenhagen. Just across from Tivoli in the center of the city, The Tube guarantees a fun and unique activity for young and old.

In fact, combine it with a HOHO bus tour. On this bus, you can sit back and relax as you are taken across Copenhagen visiting all the sights you wish to see. If you combine your sightseeing tour with a visit to The Tube, you can be sure to have a great time in Copenhagen.
