Learn all about the Vikings and Stockholm

Though Stockholm wasn’t founded until after the Viking Age, there was plenty of Viking activity in the region. One of the best places to learn about Vikings is at The Viking Museum on Djurgården and the RED Sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus can easily take you there. This combination ticket will get you where you want to go in Stockholm.

A 10th-century adventure unlike any other

The Viking Museum aims to show you what life was like 1000 years ago. There are informative and interactive exhibits filled with artifacts and reconstructions so that you can explore the Viking Age with all your senses. These include historical artifacts on loan from the Swedish History Museum and a life-size Viking who has been modeled based on the DNA of bones preserved at the Sigtuna Museum.

The Viking Museum also offers a exciting ride through the Viking Age called Ragnfrid’s Saga. When you step aboard this thrilling adventure, you will follow Viking Harald on a journey through 10th-century Europe. Harald was forced to go on a Viking Raid to restore his family fortune and honour, which he had wasted away.
